Kobe Bryant was named MVP in the recently concluded 2011 NBA All Star Game held at Staples Center in Los Angeles California as the Western Conference All Stars triumphed over the East despite Miami Heat's star player Lebron James who earned a triple-double in the contest, only the second time in NBA All Star history.
Kobe who scored 37 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Sunday night is in his 13th All Star appearance since 1998.
Oklahoma City Thunders' All Star and league top scorer Kevin Durant also helped in the victory with 34 points. James and Stoudemire topped scoreboard for the East in the losing effort.
The highlight of the All Star weekend ended with a 148-143 score in favor of the West.
